Banks County Man Charged with the Sexual Exploitation of Children

Lula, GA (July 15, 2022) – On Thursday, July 14, 2022, Todd Glassburn, age 33, of Banks County, GA, was arrested for three counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material) and two counts Sexual Exploitation of Children (Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material) by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit. The GBI CEACC Unit began an investigation into Glassburn’s online activity after receiving a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding the online possession and distribution of images depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The investigation led to a search warrant at Glassburn’s residence in Banks County and his subsequent arrest. The GBI was assisted in this case by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson County Man Charged with the Sexual Exploitation of Children

Jefferson, GA (July 15, 2022) – On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, Matthew Perry Shadburn, age 33, of Jackson County, GA, was arrested for five counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material) by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit. The investigation into Shaburn’s online activity stemmed from an investigation being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Boston, Massachusetts. This resulted in a search warrant at Shadburn’s residence in Jackson County and his subsequent arrest. The FBI and the GBI were assisted in this investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Secret Service.

GBI Arrests Clayton County Jail Inmate for Cellmate’s Death

Jonesboro, GA (July 15, 2022) – The GBI has arrested and charged Jarvin Cornelius Wallace, age 22, of Atlanta, with Felony Murder. Wallace is an inmate at the Clayton County Jail and the charges are related to the death of his cellmate, Jaylan Andrise Goodman, age 26, of Jonesboro.

GBI Makes Arrest in Ware County Double Homicide

An additional arrest has been made in this case:

Janet Rittenhouse, age 53, of Waycross is arrested and charged with two counts of felony murder and one count of party to the crime of burglary. Rittenhouse was booked into the Ware County Jail. She is the wife of Bernard Rittenhouse, previously arrested.

Waycross, GA (July 13, 2022) – Bernard Rittenhouse, age 55, of Waycross, has been arrested and charged with two counts of felony murder and one count of burglary, in connection to the deaths of Charles M. Barnett and Virginia D. Thomas. Rittenhouse is Virginia Thomas’ son. He was taken to the Ware County Jail on July 12, 2022.

GBI Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Marietta

Marietta, GA (July 8, 2022) –  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer involved shooting in Marietta, Georgia. The Marietta Police Department asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on July 7, 2022. One man has died. One officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

GBI Investigates Deaths in Lanier County

Ray City, GA (July 8, 2022) – On Thursday, July 7, 2022, the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI Douglas Office to investigate two deaths in Ray City, Lanier County, GA.

Preliminary information indicates that Lanier County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to domestic dispute 911 call at a camper on Courtney Way. While approaching the camper, Lisa Revello, age 54, opened the door and someone inside the camper shot her. As the deputies took cover, another gunshot was heard coming from inside the camper. The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team responded to assist, entered the camper, and found Mark Joiner, age 54, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Revello and Joiner were in a relationship, living in the camper. The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon will conduct autopsies on Revello and Joiner.

GBI Investigates Explosion in Elbert County

UPDATE:

Elbert County, GA (July 7, 2022) – The GBI is releasing surveillance video from this morning’s explosion that destroyed the Georgia Guidestones. The videos show the explosion and a car leaving the scene shortly after the explosion. No one was injured. For safety reasons, the structure has been completely demolished.

GBI Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Toccoa

Identification of the men involved in this incident:

The man that was shot before police arrived is identified as Keith Bernard Tooley, age 52, of Toccoa.

The man that was shot by police is identified as Chanin Emil Mayfield, age 32, of Toccoa.

Toccoa, GA (July 5, 2022) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Toccoa, GA. The Toccoa Police Department asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. One man was shot prior to law enforcement’s arrival and died. A second man was shot and died during the police encounter. No officers were injured in this incident.

GBI Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Houston County

Warner Robins, GA (July 4, 2022) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Warner Robins, Houston County, GA. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Sunday, July 3, 2022. One man was shot and died. No deputies were injured during this incident.

Arrests Made in Blakely Aggravated Assault Investigation

Blakely, GA (June 30, 2022) – On Thursday, June 30, 2022, the U.S. Marshals Service SE Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Christian Malik Gray, age 21, and Jadrian Sol, age 23, both of Blakely, GA. Both men were arrested for Aggravated Assault (seven counts), Cruelty to Children in the 1st Degree (four counts), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, in Union City, GA. They will be extradited and taken to the Early County Jail.
