Lawrenceville, GA (January 15, 2020) – On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the GBI was requested by the Lawrenceville Police Department to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation.
Preliminary information indicates at approximately 5:27 pm, a Lawrenceville PD officer responded to a trespass call at the Wendy’s located at 165 Scenic Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA.
On Wednesday, January 15, 2019, at approximately 1140 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a death that occur0ed inside the Monroe County jail.
The preliminary investigation indicates Joshua D. Marshall, 40, was arrested by Monroe County Deputies following a domestic dispute.
On Thursday, January 16, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Cobb County Police Department (CCPD) to investigate an officer involved shooting.
Preliminary information indicates that earlier this date, CCPD officers were preparing to execute search warrants for the residence and vehicle belonging to Samuel David Mallard, 19, of Powder Springs. Mallard was also wanted on outstanding arrest warrants for murder and aggravated assault with intent to rob.
Moultrie, GA (January 16, 2020) – On Monday, January 13, 2020, Bobby Ellerson was transferred to the Colquitt County Jail on arrest warrants obtained by GBI Agents on January 3, 2020, charging Ellerson in the murder and aggravated assault of Otis Lamar Anderson. Ellerson had been in jail on other charges stemming from prior incidents in Worth County.
Cook County, GA (January 15, 2020) – On January 13, 2020, a Cook County grand jury returned a true bill indictment against three individuals for crimes committed in February 2018.
On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at approximately 1:17 pm, Bainbridge Public Safety Director Jerry Carter requested the assistance of the GBI to conduct a murder investigation and subsequent officer involved shooting which was related to the murder investigation and original shooting call.
Bainbridge Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the area of 4th and Church Street regarding a report of a shooting that had taken place. When Officers arrived, they encountered Henry Isaac Jones, “IKE,” age 47, who they have had previous contact with before on multiple occasions, holding a sawed-off shotgun standing over a body in the street. Officers gave verbal commands for Jones to drop the shotgun which he did not do. Preliminary investigation has shown two Bainbridge Officers on scene fired rifles at Jones who was non-compliant, and who would not move away from the area where the first man identified as Stuffon Sanders, age 57, of 3rd Street, Bainbridge, Georgia, was still located. Witnesses say the attack on Sanders was unprovoked, and that he simply passed Jones on the street carrying a fishing pole when he was shot.
Gainesville, GA (January 14, 2020) – On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, the GBI was requested by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation.
Sylvester, GA (January 13, 2020) – On January 10, 2020, the GBI arrested Chassity Nicole Swain, 21, of Sylvester, for Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children in the 1st degree, in connection to the death of her son Joshua Swain, 2, on November 13, 2019. A warrant was obtained for Willie James Rhodes, Jr., 45, of Sylvester, for Murder in the 2nd degree and Cruelty to Children in the 2nd degree. Rhodes’ whereabouts are unknown at this time.
Americus, GA (January 10, 2020) – On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the GBI Americus Office, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Americus Police Department, DEA, and ATF arrested Montravis Tyner, age 27, Ruby Tyner, age 62, and Bryant Tyner, age 32, on the following charges:
MONTRAVIS TYNER – One count of Sale/Distribution of Schedule II substance, one count possession with intent to distribute Schedule II substance, one count possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
RUBY TYNER – one count possession of Schedule II substance.
BRYANT TYNER – Failure to Appear for a Fingerprintable Offense.
Newnan, GA (1/9/20) – On Monday, January 6, 2020, agents of the GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office, officers of the Newnan Police Department, and deputies of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office arrested 4 individuals at 1001 Bullsboro Dr, Newnan, Georgia.
The following were arrested:
Sergio Juarez, Age 32 of Gwinnett County. He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin.
Ceirra Harrison, Age 26 of Gwinnett County. She is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin.
Pedro Guzman, Age 36 of Gwinnett County. He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin.
Paula Garcia, Age 37 of Gwinnett County. She is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and heroin.
