Update – 7/16/2020
On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, an autopsy was conducted on the body of the 4-year-old victim. Preliminary results indicate that the victim died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
The early investigation indicates that the 4-year-old was shot while she and her 3-year-old brother were playing with a gun that was found inside the residence at 151 C Alley Ave., Rochelle. The investigation has also revealed that the father of the victim, Johnny Lee Kellom, age 28, was at the residence with the two children. The firearm was not secured and one of the children gained access to it.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 8:15 p.m., Kellom was taken into custody by Region 13 agents, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and the Wilcox County Sheriff in Cordele, Georgia. Kellom has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, giving false statements, and reckless conduct. He was transported to the Crisp County Jail where he is being held.
Rochelle, Wilcox County, GA (July 14, 2020) – On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 13 Perry, Georgia Office was requested by the Rochelle Police Department and Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a death investigation of a four-year-old.
Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 2:00 p.m, the father of the victim came to the Rochelle Police Department stating that his 4-year-old daughter had been shot. Rochelle dispatchers requested a Rochelle Officer to respond to the Police Department to assist. Upon the officer’s arrival, the man left the area.
Meansville, GA (July 16, 2020) – On Wednesday, July 15th, 2020, Pike County resident Brent Stein, 67, was charged with seven counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession of Child Pornography) by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office assisted the GBI with the arrest of Stein.
The search warrant and arrest is related to an investigation being conducted by the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit. The investigation began as a result of a report received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) pertaining to the upload of numerous images depicting child pornography to a social media site.
Maysville, GA (July 16, 2020) – On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, Banks County resident Jonathan Walls, 24, was charged with five counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession of Child Pornography) by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit (CEACC). GBI was assisted with a search warrant at Walls’ residence and the arrest of Walls by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
Griffin, GA (July 16, 2020) – On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, Spalding County resident Patrick Finnegan, 23, was charged with three counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession of Child Pornography) by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit (CEACC). GBI was assisted with the arrest of Finnegan by the Griffin Police Department.
Cornelia, Georgia (July 15, 2020) – On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, just after 7:00 AM, a missing 12-year-old female from Cornelia, Georgia was located and is safe in Palm Beach County, Florida with local authorities.
On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at approximately 11 AM, the child’s family believed that she had run a routine errand, but she never returned home. At approximately 8 PM, the family of the missing child reported her disappearance to the Cornelia Police Department. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Cleveland Office was requested by the Cornelia Police Department to assist in locating the missing child at approximately 10:30 PM.
Austell, GA (July 14, 2020) - The subject in this OIS has been identified as Vincent Demario Truitt, 17, of Atlanta. After being transported to the hospital last night, Truitt died of his injuries this afternoon. An autopsy will be performed tomorrow by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Chamblee, GA (July 12, 2020) – On Sunday, July 12, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Chamblee Police Department to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 8:57 a.m., multiple 911 calls were received about a subject, later identified as Marcos Reyes, age 28 of Forest Park, having a firearm in the area of Shallowford Terrace and Buford Highway.
Leesburg, GA (July 12, 2020) – On Sunday, July 12, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 2:30 PM, Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 284 Linden Road, Lot #2, Leesburg to serve court mandated paperwork on Rodney Morrison, age 47. Morrison threatened deputies with a knife as they attempted to serve the order. Morrison escaped from his home and ran a short distance into a field where City of Leesburg officers arrived to assist
