Eastman, GA (April 7, 2020) – On Monday, April 6, 2020, shortly after 3:00 p.m., the Eastman Police Department requested the assistance of the GBI Eastman Office to assist with an aggravated assault investigation. Law enforcement initially responded to Eastman Street in reference to a person being shot. When responding officers made contact with the victim, Terry Faulk, 47, it was determined that Faulk was shot multiple times. Faulk was transported to the Dodge County Hospital where he was later airlifted to Navicent Hospital in Macon. Faulk was treated and released.
East Point, GA (April 4, 2020) – On Saturday, April 4, 2020 the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the College Park Police Department (CPPD) to investigate an officer involved shooting that occurred in East Point, GA.
Macon, GA (March 30, 2020) – On Friday, March 27, 2020, David Heath II, 35, of Lizella, GA, was arrested and charged with five counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children; Possession of Child Pornography, as well as Possession of Methamphetamine. The investigation began as the result of multiple cybertips that were received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) related to the possible sexual exploitation of children using an internet service. The subsequent investigation was conducted by the GBI with the assistance of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, March 30, 2020, the GBI obtained arrest warrants for Ryan Purser, age 22, and Cidney Reason, age 20, of Crawford County, GA and charged them both with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Tampering with Evidence, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
Rossville, GA (March 26, 2020) – On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Brian Cleverly, 43, was arrested in Hamilton County, Tennessee for the murder of his wife Tina Cleverly. On January 17, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Calhoun Regional Office and the Rossville Police Department initiated a death investigation after Ms. Cleverley was found deceased when medical personnel responded to her Rossville, Georgia residence. Brian Cleverly is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia where he will be held at the Walker County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Decatur County, GA (March 25, 2020): ***Update*** The GBI and Decatur County Sheriff’s Office have charged Larry Jason Hood, 47, with the following charges in connection with the murder of Angela “Mae” Young: 1. Malice Murder 2. Felony Murder 3. Aggravated Assault 4. Kidnapping 5. False Imprisonment.
Muscogee County, GA (March 24, 2020) – On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at approximately 12:18 AM, the GBI was requested by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an officer involved shooting investigation.
Preliminary information indicates that on Monday, March 23, 2020, at approximately 5:00 PM, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigations unit began conducting surveillance of Christopher O’Brien Lawrence, 30 at The Hills apartment complex, 3528 Gentian Boulevard, Columbus.
Sharpsburg, Georgia (March 24, 2020) – On Monday, March 23, 2020, Airline Machinist Michael Wilkes, age 58, of Sharpsburg, Georgia was charged with 6 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession of Child Pornography). This arrest came after an investigation was conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), with the assistance of Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, into the possible sexual exploitation of children by Wilkes via an online service.
Albany, GA (March 24, 2020) – On March 23, 2020, the Albany Police Department (APD) requested the GBI to investigate an officer involved shooting.
Newnan, GA (March 23, 2020) – On Friday, March 20, 2020, agents of the GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office and officers of the Newnan Police Department, executed a search warrant at 28 Shady Oak Lane, Newnan, Georgia and arrested Ricky Adam Norris, age 29, of Newnan, Georgia. This arrest was the result of methamphetamine and heroin trafficking activities of Morris in Coweta County, GA.
