Arcade, GA (January 14, 2022) – On Friday, January 14, 2022, the GBI arrested Sugey Castro-Solis, age 24, of Barrow County, for Felony Murder related to the death of a 23 month old child in Arcade, GA.
On Monday, January 11, 2021, Arcade Police responded to a 911 call in reference to an unresponsive child and asked the GBI for assistance in the investigation. The child was transported to the hospital and later died. Castro-Solis was the caretaker of the child at the time 911 was called.
(January 12, 2022) – Joshua Magual Sanders, age 27, of Birmingham, AL, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Flagstaff, AZ today on charges relating to the shooting deaths of Latorey Harden and Pamela Harden. Sanders was arrested on outstanding warrants for Aggravated Assault (two counts), Felony Murder (two counts), Possession of a Firearm During Certain Crimes (two counts), and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (one count). He will be extradited to Georgia. Pamela Harden’s 2021 Nissan Rogue was taken from the scene of the shooting and recovered in Birmingham, AL on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Vidalia, GA (January 7, 2022) – The second victim, Pamela Harden, of Vidalia has died. The GBI investigation is active and ongoing.
Vidalia, GA (January 6, 2022) – On Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 12:55 p.m., Vidalia Police Department officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute at 802 E. 5th Street, Vidalia, Toombs County, GA. Before officers arrived, a second 911 call was received regarding a shooting at the same address. When officers arrived, they found two shooting victims, identified as Latorey Denise Harden, age 24, and Pamela Harden, age 42, both of Vidalia. Latorey Harden was deceased and Pamela Harden was transported to Memorial Health in Savannah in critical condition. Pamela Harden is Latorey Harden’s mother. The shooter has not been positively identified, but was seen leaving the scene in a blue 2021 Nissan Rogue with a busted window, Georgia license plate RRX1184.
Loganville, GA (January 12, 2022) – The GBI has been requested to assist the Walton County Sheriff’s Office with a shooting death investigation. One woman has died and one man has been arrested.
Snellville, GA (January 9, 2021) – On Friday, January 7, 2022, the Snellville Police Department asked the GBI to investigate a homicide which left one man dead and another man injured. After receiving multiple 911 calls, officers responded to 2900 Summit View Court, Snellville, where a male victim was found on the front porch of the residence. It was determined that the victim had been shot and died on scene. Another shooting victim was located inside the residence. This victim had also been shot and was taken to a local area hospital where he remains in critical condition. The identity of the deceased victim is pending notification of next of kin.
Lyons County, GA (January 9, 2021) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Lyons, Toombs County, GA. The Lyons Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Sunday, January 9, 2021. Charles James, age 32, of Vidalia was taken into custody. Taliyah Williams, age 17, of Vidalia, was injured. No officers were injured.
The investigation shows that Lyons police officers responded to a bank alarm call. While checking the bank, officers heard shots being fired. Officers called dispatch at 12:11 a.m. stating they heard shots fired. Dispatch also received a 911 call about shots fired near CKT trailer park at 254 East Clifton Avenue in Lyons.
Crawford County, GA (January 9, 2021) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Crawford County, GA. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Denrick Demond Stallings, age 47, of Roberta, has died. No deputies were injured.
Preliminary information indicates that at 12:16 p.m., a Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a traffic violation (speeding). The driver, later identified as Denrick Stallings, refused to stop and that led to a vehicle pursuit. The chase lasted several miles until Stallings crashed the car.
Columbus, GA (January 7, 2022) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Columbus, GA. The Columbus Police Department asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Friday, January 7, 2022. One man, Tabias Maddox, age 39, of Columbus, was injured in this incident. No officers were injured.
The preliminary information indicates that on Friday, January 7, 2022, at around 1:00 A.M., Columbus Police responded to a 911 call about gun shots being fired in the vicinity of Habitat Drive and Annette Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed a car leaving the area and began to pursue it. The pursuit ended nearby in the vicinity of Buena Vista Road and Chesterfield Avenue. At that time, Maddox, the driver of the car, got out and while running away, shot a handgun at police. An officer returned gunfire, hitting Maddox in the leg.
Calhoun, GA (January 6, 2022) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Calhoun, Gordon County, GA. The Calhoun Police Department asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Thursday, January 6, 2022. One man was shot and has died. No officers were injured.
Dade County, GA (January 4, 2022) – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in Dade County, GA. The Dade County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to conduct an independent investigation on Monday, January 3,2022. Investigators from the DeKalb County (AL) Sheriff’s Office following leads on a stolen car led them into Georgia. One man was shot by DeKalb County (AL) investigators and is in a local hospital in critical condition. No officers were injured.
Hart County, GA (January 4, 2022) – The GBI has arrested Corinna Crumpton, 30, of Toccoa, GA, in reference to an investigation that began in December of 2021 at the request of the Hartwell Police Department. Agents charged Crumpton on January 4, 2022 with sexual assault and electronically furnishing obscene materials to a minor, both felony charges.
The crimes took place between August and December of 2021. Crumpton is a Hart County High School teacher. This investigation is active and ongoing.
