GBI Arrests Americus Man and Woman Following a Search Warrant Operation

Americus, GA (September 21, 2026) – The GBI has arrested and charged Jessica Reynolds, age 37, and Rankin Ruff, age 42, both of Americus, GA, with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, and two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, following a search warrant operation in Americus, GA. The GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SWRDEO), GBI Regional Investigative Office in Americus, GBI Special Enforcement Team, the Americus Police Department, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia State Patrol participated in this search warrant operation.

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of South Jackson Street, Americus, GA, related to an illegal narcotics investigation. As a result of the search warrant, law enforcement seized approximately 695.8 grams of suspected cocaine, 17.7 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 4 firearms, and over $27,000 USD.

Reynolds and Ruff were booked into the Sumter County Jail.

This investigation was conducted to make an impact on the current street-level drug distribution and violent crime within Americus, Sumter County, Georgia, and to promote a safer place for productive citizens.
