GBI Arrests Three People in a Colquitt Shooting Investigation

Colquitt, Miller County, GA (September 1, 2026) - The GBI has arrested and charged Koti Amaad Dunn Jr, age 19, of Cuthbert, GA, Jakevious Lashawn Nunnally, age 18, of Blakely, GA, and Shamerion Allen, age 16, of Fort Gaines, GA, in connection with a shooting in Colquitt, GA, on August 30, 2026, that resulted in the death of Qutavious Ofton, age 21, of Blakely, GA. Dunn was also injured in the incident. The Colquitt Police Department requested the GBI to investigate.

Dunn and Nunnally were both charged with one count of Felony Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Allen was charged with one count of Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault.

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at about 10:06 p.m., Miller-Baker E911 received a shots-fired call from the Circle K convenience store located at 359 S 4th Street in Colquitt, GA. Preliminary information indicates that earlier that night, five people arrived at the store in two separate vehicles to meet in the parking lot. Shortly after the groups arrived, multiple shots were fired. Ofton was shot, entered the store, and then collapsed. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ofton’s body will be taken to the GBI Crime Lab, where an autopsy will be conducted.

Three men who arrived at the scene in a car together, later identified as Dunn, Nunnally, and Allen, drove away after the shooting. They were followed by a Georgia State Patrol trooper who responded to the scene after hearing the gunshots and radio traffic. After a short pursuit, the car crashed. Dunn ran away but was later found with a gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to a regional hospital for treatment.

Nunnally and Allen were arrested and booked into the Miller County Jail.

Once Dunn is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Miller County Jail.

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
