GBI Arrests Two People on Drug Charges Following a Search Warrant in Mitchell County
Camilla, Mitchell County, GA (August 21, 2026) – The GBI has arrested and charged Travis Lamar Harris, age 51, of Camilla, GA, and Kenyetta Clayton, age 47, of Camilla, GA, following a search warrant operation in Camilla, GA. Harris is charged with felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Substance with the Intent to Distribute, four counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Use of a Communication Device to Facilitate a Drug Transaction, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon During the Commission of a Felony. Clayton is charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance. The GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SWRDEO), the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Thomasville, the Camilla Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol, and the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office participated in the search warrant operation.
On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a home in the 7000 block of Pipeline Road, Camilla, GA, related to an illegal narcotics investigation. As a result of the search warrant, law enforcement seized approximately 27.8 grams of suspected ecstasy, 1.37 ounces of suspected marijuana, 88 grams of methamphetamine, approximately $11,000, and a firearm.
Both Harris and Clayton were booked into the Mitchell County Jail.
This investigation was conducted to make an impact on the current street-level drug distribution and violent crime within Camilla, Mitchell County, Georgia, and to promote a safer place for productive citizens.
