GBI Arrests Two People on Drug Charges Following a Search Warrant in Albany

Albany, GA (August 14, 2026) – The GBI has arrested and charged Taylor Bridges, age 30, of Albany, GA, and Demetris Johnson, age 47, of Albany, GA, with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Trafficking Cocaine, following a search warrant operation in Albany, GA. The GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SWRDEO), the GBI Special Enforcement Team (SET), the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), and the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) participated in this operation.

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, GBI SWRDEO, GBI SET, DCSO, and GSP executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of 6th Avenue, Albany, GA, related to an illegal narcotics investigation. As a result of the search warrant, law enforcement seized approximately 36.9 grams of suspected cocaine, 3 pounds of suspected marijuana, 44.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 87.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 7.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 2 handguns.

Both subjects were booked into the Dougherty County Jail.

Additional charges are expected.

This investigation was conducted to make an impact on the current street-level drug distribution and violent crime within Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia, and to promote a safer place for productive citizens.
