Marietta, Cobb County, GA (April 22, 2026) - At the request of the Cobb County Police Department (CCPD), GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Cobb County, GA. Damian Strozier, age 31, of Atlanta, GA, was shot and killed. No officers were injured in the incident.

Preliminary information indicates that on April 21, 2026, Cobb County Police Department officers were searching for Strozier near Leland Drive in Marietta, Cobb County, GA. Strozier was wanted for murder out of Fulton County, GA. Officers located Strozier and attempted to arrest him. Strozier pulled out a gun, and a CCPD officer shot at him. Strozier fled the scene and law enforcement continued to search for him.

At about 7:40 p.m., members of the CCPD SWAT Team located Strozier in the woods behind an apartment complex off Leland Drive. Several officers shot at Strozier, hitting him multiple times. Strozier was pronounced dead on scene.
