Guyton, Ga (March 14, 2025) - The GBI has arrested and charged Theodore Hamby, age 26, of Guyton, GA, with one count of Theft by Taking and one count of Financial Transaction Card Fraud. Hamby is a member of the Guyton City Council.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, the GBI was requested by the Guyton Police Department to assist with a theft investigation involving City Council member Theodore Hamby. The theft was related to Hamby’s position as a council member and his misuse of a city credit card.

Hamby was booked into the Effingham County Jail.
