Liberty County, GA  (August 28, 2024) - At the request of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Flemington, Georgia. Andre Deon Haggray, age 30, of Flemington, Georgia died in the incident. No deputies were injured in this incident.

The preliminary information indicates that at about 9:30 a.m., deputies responded to a home off Old Hines Road in Flemington following a 911 call. The caller requested help due to a domestic disturbance at the home. 

Deputies arrived at the home and made contact with Haggray in the backyard of the home. Haggray pulled out a handgun and a deputy fired at Haggray who then entered the woods behind the home. Deputies then encountered Haggray while in the woods, and there was an exchange of gunfire between Haggray and deputies. Haggray ultimately made his way to a nearby dirt road where he encountered additional deputies. Haggray raised his hand with the gun in hand and the deputies fired, hitting Haggray. Haggray was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Haggray will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiners Office in Pooler, Georgia for an autopsy. 

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation. Once complete, the case file will be given to the Atlantic District Attorney’s Office for review.
