McRae-Helena, GA (April 11, 2024) – At the request of the McRae-Helena Police Department, GBI agents are investigating the death of Montez Edronz McMillian, age 33, of McRae-Helena, GA.  

The preliminary investigation indicates at about 1:20 a.m., on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the McRae-Helena Police Department was dispatched to the area of E Magnolia Street, McRae-Helena, Telfair County, Georgia, for a shots fired call.  When officers arrived, they found McMillian dead in an SUV in the Oak Grove Cemetery.   

The shooting occurred near E Magnolia Street and Daughtry Avenue. After McMillian was shot, he went through a fence in his SUV at Oak Grove Cemetery where his SUV stopped.   

No arrests have been made at this time.
