Tifton Man Arrested in Tift County Death Investigation

UPDATE – April 4, 2024: 

The second victim that was taken to the hospital died on Friday, March 29, 2024. He has been identified as Adam Tyler Fall, age 31, of Tifton, GA.  

ORIGINAL RELEASE:  

Tift County, GA (March 27, 2024) – The GBI has arrested and charged Wayne Doyle, age 38, of Tifton, GA, with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempted Removal of a Weapon from an Officer, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in relation to the death of Anzley Gandy, age 39, of Tifton, GA. The Tift County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to investigate. 

The investigation shows that Tift County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to West 21st Street, Tifton, GA in reference to the death of one person and one person suffering from a gunshot wound. Gandy was pronounced dead at the scene. The surviving victim was taken to a local hospital for their injuries.   

An autopsy will be performed on Gandy at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in the Central Regional Lab.   

Doyle was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Tift County Jail.
