Donalsonville, Georgia (February 6, 2024) - At the request of the Donalsonville Police Department, the GBI is assisting with an investigation into the death of a five-month-old girl. 

The investigation shows that at around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, the girl’s family members found her unresponsive in the living room of the home. The baby was driven by her family to the Donalsonville Hospital Emergency Department. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and the girl was pronounced dead by medical staff. GBI agents and Donalsonville Police Department investigators are conducting interviews and reviewing evidence.  

An autopsy will be performed at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause and manner of death.
