Forsyth, GA (January 6, 2024) –  At the request of the Forsyth Police Department, GBI agents are investigating the death of Rashid Khalid Ivey, age 21, of Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.   

Preliminary information indicates police received a 911 call on January 5, 2024, around 9:00 a.m., about an unknown person found dead inside their home. Forsyth Police Department officers responded and found Ivey dead from a gunshot wound. A GBI Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Ivey.  

The GBI investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to Towaliga District Attorney’s Office for review.
