Dublin, Georgia (November 28, 2023) – The GBI is investigating a homicide in Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia. On Saturday, November 21, 2023, at around 6:30 p.m., the Dublin Police Department requested the GBI to investigate.   

On November 22, 2023, at around 10:20 p.m., the Dublin Police Department was dispatched to an apartment in Johnson Homes, Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia in reference to a shooting. The preliminary investigation indicates that an unknown person shot through the apartment door and windows multiple times. Several people were in the apartment during the shooting. Kendrick O’Neal, age 36, of Dublin, GA, and one woman were shot and wounded.  

Both were taken to the hospital. O’Neal was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim’s injuries were not life threatening.  

No arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Once complete, it will be given to the Dublin Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
