GBI and Cairo Police Make Arrest in 2021 Murder Investigation 

Cairo, GA (October 4, 2023) - On September 27, 2023, GBI Agents and Cairo Police Department officers arrested and charged Joshua Jones, age 17, with murder and aggravated assault in connection to the May 2021 murder of Derrick Herring. Jones was a juvenile at the time of the murder but has been charged as an adult. 

This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Investigative Office in Thomasville at 229-225-4090.
