Bonaire, GA (April 30, 2021) – On Friday, April 30, 2021, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a death investigation.  

Preliminary information indicates that at 7:49 a.m., the Warner Robins Police Department received a call in reference to a domestic dispute on Myers Lake Road. Officers were advised that Jason Pinyan, age 43, of Bonaire, GA, had entered a residence and had a domestic dispute with a male and female at the residence. Pinyan left the residence prior to Warner Robins officers arriving at the residence.

The domestic dispute investigation led Warner Robins PD officers to 105 Highway 96 West, Bonaire, Houston County, GA. This location has been identified as where Pinyan was staying. Warner Robins PD officers had heard Pinyan threatening officers during a phone call while conducting the initial investigation. Due to the address being in the county, Warner Robins PD officers requested assistance from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived at the residence at 10:35 a.m. Pinyan could be seen inside the residence through a window holding a rifle. Deputies backed away from the residence and took cover. A negotiator made contact with Pinyan by cell phone and attempted to talk Pinyan out of the residence. During the standoff, one gunshot was heard over the phone and coming from inside the residence. Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputies made entry into the residence at this time and found Pinyan inside the residence deceased from a single gunshot wound.   

Pinyan’s body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.
