GBI Makes Arrests in Wilkes County Shooting Investigation
Washington, GA (September 15, 2020) – On September 14, 2020, the GBI and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rydrequces Cullars, 25, and Delvonte Harris, 23, both of Washington, GA and charged them with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. These arrests are following the GBI being requested to assist the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office with three shooting incidents that have occurred in Washington over the last several days.
On September 9, 2020, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office was called to a Tate Street residence regarding a drive by shooting. Numerous shots were fired causing damage to the residence, but no individuals were shot. At approximately 10:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office was called to another drive by shooting on Pecan Grove Road in Washington. Two small children were injured during the shooting incident. The children were transported to Augusta University Medical Center where they were treated and released for their injuries.
On September 14, 2020, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office was called to a third shooting incident on Pope Street in Washington. Upon arrival, deputies located Darius Binns, 23, of Washington, who had been shot. Binns was transported to a hospital in Augusta where he is being treated for his injuries.
