Ellabell, GA (September 8, 2020) – On Saturday, September 5, 2020, at approximately 4:12 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a death investigation. At approximately 3:40 p.m., the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call of a shooting that occurred at 323 Murchinson Road, Ellabell, Bryan County, GA. 

Zachariah Jones, Jr., 20, of Riverdale, GA was found deceased as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Tyree Dixon, 21, of Ellabell, was transported to Memorial Health in Savannah where he died as a result of injuries received during the shooting. Michael Dixon, 35, of Ellabell, was transported to Memorial Health with a gunshot wound and was treated and released.

The bodies of Zachariah Jones and Tyree Dixon were transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for autopsy.
