Nashville, GA (August 26, 2020) – On Sunday, August 23, 2020, the GBI arrested Ray Webster Walker, 53, and charged him with one count of Felony Murder, one count of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Kidnapping.

On Sunday, August 23, 2020, the GBI was requested by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a death investigation. At approximately 2:16 p.m., the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched by 911 to a shooting at 198 Launie Swain Road in Nashville, GA. When deputies arrived, they found Gene Griffin, 74, deceased inside his residence. Also in the residence were Griffin’s wife, Laquietta Griffin, 85, and Gene Griffin’s brother-in-law, Ray Webster Walker. As a result of the investigation, Ray Webster Walker was arrested.

Griffin’s body was transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon, GA for autopsy.
