Warrenton, GA (August 12, 2020) – On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the GBI was requested to assist the Warren County Sheriff’s Office with a death investigation that occurred on Rabun Road in Warrenton, Warren County, GA.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., several law enforcement and public safety agencies assisted the Warren County Sheriff’s Office with a woods search for 65-year-old Louis Johnson. Johnson had last been seen on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his residence on Parrish Road in Warrenton. Johnson had several medical related illnesses that required medication but had left all his medications at his residence. At approximately 3:00 p.m., Johnson’s body was found in a pond just off Rabun Road near Parrish Road.

Johnson’s body has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, GA where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing.
