GBI Makes Arrest in Sexton Farms Theft Investigation
Camilla, GA (August 11, 2020) – On Monday, August 10, 2020, the GBI arrested Penny White Parker, 57, of Colquitt County, on various theft charges. Parker has been employed since 2006 as the Logistics Manager for Sexton Farms in Camilla, GA.
On Thursday, June 18, 2020, the GBI was requested by District Attorney Joe Mulholland to initiate an investigation into thefts of monies from Sexton Farms. So far in the investigation, thefts totaling $157,000 have been documented. Agents expect that number to increase as they receive additional financial records related to the thefts that have been requested from various sources. It is alleged that Parker was taking blank company checks that were primarily used by Sexton Farms delivery drivers and then cashing the checks herself at local businesses and banks in Mitchell and Colquitt Counties.
Additional charges are expected to be presented to Grand Juries in Mitchell and Colquitt Counties at a later date:
Mitchell Co:
- 1 count of Theft by Deception (felony)
- 1 count of Theft by Taking (felony)
- 4 counts of Forgery in the 3rd Degree
Colquitt Co:
- 10 counts of Forgery in the 3rd Degree
Parker was booked into the Colquitt County Jail and will be served with the Mitchell County warrants after her release from Colquitt County.
