Nashville, GA (June 22, 2020) – On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, juvenile complaints were taken for the juvenile subject that shot the juvenile victim on November 25, 2019. The complaints were for Misdemeanor Reckless Conduct and Misdemeanor Pointing a Gun at Another. Through coordination with the Department of Juvenile Justice, the juvenile subject was released to the custody of his parents. The case file has since been turned over to the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

On Monday, November 25, 2019, the GBI’s Douglas Regional Office received a request from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a shooting investigation.

On Monday, November 25, 2019, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting that occurred at a residence on Turner Church Road. A 16-year-old male was shot in the chest by another 16-year-old male with a small caliber rifle. Both individuals were students at Irwin County High School. The victim was first transported to the Irwin County Hospital and then to Navicent Hospital in Macon, Georgia, where he is currently in stable condition.
