GBI Investigates Death in Metter

Metter, GA (June 19, 2020) - The GBI is releasing an update on a murder investigation out of Candler County, GA that occurred on June 15, 2020. At the request of the Metter Police Department, the GBI initiated an investigation for the murder of Willie Cheley IV. As a result of the investigation, the GBI secured a felony murder arrest warrant for Juan Dwayne Johnson, age 23. Investigators believe that he has left the area and may be traveling in a 2007 gray Honda Accord, license plate RUT5084. The vehicle was stolen shortly after the murder in close proximity to the incident scene. Anyone that sees the vehicle should call 911 and use caution as Johnson could still be armed with a weapon.
