GBI and Cairo Police Investigate Shooting - UPDATE
UPDATE Cairo, GA (August 26, 2019) – Marcel Tavonto Williams, age 24, has been arrested and charged with two counts aggravated assault, 1st degree home invasion, 1st degree burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was booked into the Grady County Jail.

Cairo, GA (August 26, 2019) – On August 21, 2019, the GBI was requested by the Cairo Police Department to help conduct an investigation of a male who was shot multiple times at his residence on 8th Avenue Northwest in Cairo, Georgia by two males.
The victim was robbed at gunpoint and his house was ransacked by the two men. Items were removed from the residence by the two men during the robbery and shooting. During the investigation, agents and police conducted a crime scene search and interviewed the victim and witnesses in the case. Through the investigation, one male has been identified and arrested in connection to the shooting. Tarveny Tyrone Shine, age 22, was arrested Friday, August 23, 2019 late in the afternoon. He has been charged with aggravated assault, 1st degree home invasion, 1st degree burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was booked into the Grady County Jail. Agents and police are continuing the investigation to locate the other male involved.
