Charlton County Death Investigation
St. George, GA (October 30, 2018) – On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a death investigation. Three deceased individuals were located in their residence at 1418 St. Marys River Bluff Road, Saint George, Georiga, all with gunshot wounds. The individuals are identified as Caleb Logan Butts, 15 years of age, Kimberly Gayle Butts, 39 years of age, and Jan Elizabeth Kirkland, 64 years of age.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident is a double homicide/suicide but will be confirmed by the medical examiner who will conduct autopsies tomorrow at the GBI Crime Lab in Savannah, Georgia.
