Rockdale County, GA (September 20, 2018) –  On Thursday, September 20, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested Dan Lang, age 37, on multiple violations of theft by taking (firearms), a charge of theft of excess of $40,000 in US currency, and one count of violation of oath of office. 

On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at approximately 10:55 AM, the GBI received a request from the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office to investigate allegations that Lang was obtaining destruction orders on firearms from the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office evidence room and then pawning the guns for cash. 

Lang turned himself in to the Rockdale County jail without incident.

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
