Thomson, GA (August 22, 2018) - On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at approximately 5:45 pm, Kadarious Hobbs, 19, of Thomson was taken into custody by the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office. Hobbs has been charged with Aggravated Assault and is currently being detained at the McDuffie County Jail. Additional charges are pending.

Thomson, GA (August 10, 2018) - On Tuesday, August 8, 2018, Aundra Damaucus Hanson, 33, was arrested in DeKalb County by the US Marshal’s Service for outstanding warrants of Aggravated Assault and transported to the Dekalb County Jail. 

On Wednesday, August 9, 2018, Hanson was transported from the DeKalb County Jail to the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he is currently being held for Aggravated Assault in connection to a shooting incident which occurred at Spee-Dee Foods located at 503 Gordon Street, Thomson, Georgia.    

The Thomson Police Department, McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshal’s Service and the GBI have been working jointly on the leads in this case since the initial request by the Thomson Police Department on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.  

Law enforcement officials are still looking for Kadarious Hobbs, 18. The investigation is ongoing.

Thomson, GA (June 29, 2018) - On Thursday, June 28, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office arrested D’Alviune Burnett, 17, at a residence in Martinez. Burnett was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the McDuffie County Jail. Burnett is charged with one count of Aggravated Assault.

Law enforcement officials in McDuffie County are currently looking for Kadarious Hobbs, 18, and Aundra D. Hanson, 33, both of Thomson. Hobbs and Hanson are each wanted for one count of Aggravated Assault regarding the shooting incident at Spee-Dee Foods in Thomson on June 27, 2018.

On June 27, 2018, at approximately 3:00 PM, Thomson Police responded to the Spee-Dee Foods located at 503 Cobbham Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials determined that a shooting incident took place in the store’s parking lot. Further investigation revealed that Aaryonna Coleman, 18, of Hephzibah and Tyquerion Steed, 17, of Thomson were injured during the shooting. Coleman and Steed were transported to area hospitals where they were treated and released for their injuries.

The GBI has been requested by the Thomson Police Department to assist with the investigation. Also, assisting with the investigation are the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
