Glennville, Tattnall County, Georgia – On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at approximately 2:50 a.m. the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested to by the Glennville Police Department to investigate a shooting incident that led to the death of a Glennville man and serious injuries to two others.

Preliminary information indicates that at shortly after 2:30 AM, the Glennville Police Department and the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding multiple individuals being shot at 304 N. Herrington Street in Glennville.  When officers arrived on scene, they found David Murphy, 42, and Lesley Murphy, 39, outside the residence having gunshot wounds.  Both were transported to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah where they are being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  Officers also located Malik Sayeed Murphy, 18, deceased inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.  Also located on scene was Renata Files, 36.  Files has preliminarily been found to be responsible for shooting and killing Malik Murphy and injuring David and Lesley Murphy.  Murder, among other charges for Files are forthcoming.

An autopsy for Malik Murphy will be performed at the GBI crime lab in Savannah on August 8, 2018.
