Braselton, Georgia August 02, 2018 –  On Friday, July 27, 2018 at approximately 1:13 P.M., the Jackson County 911 Center received an emergency request for medical assistance to Adams Motor Sports located at 11852 Lewis Braselton Boulevard Braselton, Georgia. When Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived, they discovered the owner of the business, Eric Adams, thirty-two years of age, unresponsive on the floor of his shop. EMS transported Adams to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia where he was pronounced dead. Medical staff at the hospital noted a suspicious injury consistent with a gunshot wound and contacted law enforcement.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the business and the hospital where an investigation began. Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Adams’ body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, Georgia where an autopsy was performed. Based on the results of that autopsy, Adams’ death has been ruled a homicide.

The criminal investigation is being worked jointly by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI with assistance from the Braselton Police Department and the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
