The pursuit continued until it was stopped on Old White Oak Cemetery Road in Paulding County.  Hamner was taken into custody and found to have a gunshot wound to his arm and a wound from a canine bite.  He was transported WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center for treatment and released.  Hamner is being held at Haralson County Jail pending charges for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

No officers were injured during the incident.

The GBI will continue its independent investigation.  Once completed, the case will be turned over to the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
