Fort Gaines, GA - On Thursday, October 12, 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by Fort Gaines Police Chief Sam Sterling to assist with a murder investigation.  At approximately at 1:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to 206 College Street in reference to gunshots.  Officers found both Charlie Smith, 29, and Manuelito Jackson, age unknown, dead at the residence.

Autopsies will be performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon.
