Macon, GA – On June 8, 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested David Odell Philmon, age 49, for O.C.G.A. #16-6-5.1(b)(2) Sexual Assault and #16-10-1 Violation of Oath by Public Officer in connection with inappropriate contact with a probationer that was currently under supervision by the DCS.  Both charges are felony offenses.

On Friday, May 19, 2017, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) contacted the GBI and requested a criminal investigation into the alleged inappropriate conduct between Officer Philmon and a few female probationers.  The GBI Region 13 – Perry office conducted several interviews, collected digital computer evidence, and served a search warrant at Philmon’s residence located in Monroe County, Georgia where additional evidence was collected.  Through these investigative actions, the GBI gained enough probable cause to arrest Philmon.

On Thursday, June 8, 2017, David Philmon voluntarily turned himself in to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.  Philmon was released on bond later on this same date.
