Thomson, GA – On May 11, 2017, at approximately 5:10 PM, the GBI was requested to assist the Thomson Police Department with a homicide investigation that occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kennedy Circle. At approximately 5:07 PM, officers with the Thomson Police Department were dispatched to the Kennedy Circle residence regarding a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male lying in the driveway of the residence. The male victim was identified as Frederick Brooks, 45 years old, of Decatur, Georgia. The GBI Region 7 Field Office responded and began conducting an investigation.   

Brooks’ body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, GA where an autopsy will be performed at a later time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning this investigation is asked to call the Thomson Police Department at 706-595-2166 or the GBI Office at 706-595-2575.
