North Georgia Drug Task Force Seizes Trafficking Amounts of Narcotics and Weapons
Colbert, Ga. – On June 25, 2016, the North Georgia Drug Task Force (NGDTF) and Madison County Sheriff’s Office seized illegal drugs worth approximately $12,000.00 and multiple weapons at a Hardman Morris Road address in Colbert. Task force agents and deputies conducted a search at the address where powder cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana were found. Several firearms were also seized.
Four people were arrested in connection with the search. Stantavious Deonta Maxwell, 24, Colbert, was arrested on multiple felony narcotics offenses and a weapons charge. Two Athens men, Jamal Rashad Stone, 28, and Gregory Lanier Morton, 35, were also charged with multiple felony weapons and drug related offenses. Terinesha Marchae Wise, 21, Athens was charged with reckless conduct and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
The North Georgia Drug Task Force continues the investigation.
The North Georgia Drug Task Force is a Multi-Jurisdictional Narcotics Task Force comprised of the following agencies: Franklin County, Madison County, Lavonia Police Department, Elberton Police Department and Hartwell Police Department. The North Georgia Drug Task Force is supervised by a supervisory agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
