Adel, GA - On Friday, December 11, 2015, the GBI’s Douglas Regional Office was requested by the Adel Police Department to assist in a homicide investigation that resulted in the arrest of Calvin Smith, age 47, on charges of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.

On Friday, December 11, 2015, officers with the Adel Police Department responded to 814 Turkey Drive, Adel, GA in reference to a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers found Dempsey Williams, age 52, inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.  Williams was transported to Cook Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
