Morrow, Georgia – The Department of Public Safety at Clayton State University has requested the GBI to investigate a shooting that took place last night (November 9, 2015) at approximately 8:15 PM, which resulted in the death of Tyron Davis, 23 years of age.

Initial information provided to the GBI indicates that at approximately 8:15 PM, the Department of Public Safety at Clayton State University was dispatched to the Clayton Station Apartments at 5809 N. Lake Drive in Morrow, Georgia, concerning a 911 call that there were gunshots heard at that location.  Upon the officers’ arrival, Davis was discovered lying in the breezeway of the apartment building with at least one suspected gunshot wound.  Davis was transported by ambulance to Southern Regional Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.  The GBI is continuing to interview witnesses in the apartment complex, as well as interview friends and family of Davis.  The GBI Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Davis this morning and confirmed that Davis had two gunshot wounds.
