Grovetown, GA. – On September 23, 2015, an autopsy was performed on David Sean Owens by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur, GA. The preliminary results of the autopsy revealed that the cause of death was ruled as a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death has been ruled as a suicide.  These preliminary results are consistent with physical evidence found at the scene and statements provided by witnesses to the incident.  The case remains under investigation by the GBI Regional Thomson Office and upon completion will be turned over to the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for any action they deem appropriate.
