Rome, GA - On August 26, 2015 at 2:50 am the Calhoun Regional GBI Office was requested by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of inmate Stephen Ralph Nalley, age 49. Nalley was discovered deceased by Floyd County detention officers at approximately 1:50 am during a morning head count. Preliminary investigation revealed head injuries to the deceased. An autopsy will be performed by the GBI Medical Examiners Office in Decatur to determine cause of death. No charges have been filed at this point as the investigation is ongoing.
