Decatur, GA – On Saturday, June 7, an autopsy was performed on Dennis Ronald Marx at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur.  Marx was killed on the morning of Friday, June 6, by Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies after he drove onto the grounds of the Forsyth County Courthouse and shot a deputy who was conducting a routine perimeter check. The autopsy revealed Marx died as the result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Immediately following the incident on Friday, Forsyth County Sheriff Duane K. Piper requested the GBI conduct a use of force investigation.  The GBI continues to investigate the incident.  When the investigation is completed it will be provided to Forsyth County District Attorney Penny Penn.
