Commercial Gambling Search Warrant
Suwanee, GA. – On Thursday, February 6, 2014, the GBI’s Commercial Gambling Unit, along with the Gwinnett Metro Task Force, the Suwanee Police Department, the Georgia Department of Revenue and in cooperation with the Georgia Lottery Corporation executed a search warrant at the Chevron Food Mart at 3033 Lawrenceville – Suwanee Road in Suwanee for violations of Georgia’s commercial gambling laws.
While searching the location, the GBI collected evidence related to crimes of commercial gambling and seized monetary assets gained from the illegal use of the coin operated amusement machines.
The Food Mart is currently licensed to operate Coin Operated Amusement Machines. However, during the course of the investigation, agents discovered customers were receiving cash payouts for winning credits. In Georgia, credits may only be redeemed for lottery tickets and/or store merchandise. The GBI arrested Mohammed Hassan, 51, of Atlanta, Georgia for one felony count of commercial gambling.
