Pavo, GA- On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 the Georgia Bureau Investigation (GBI) office in Thomasville, GA was requested to assist the Brooks County Sheriff’s office with an investigation into the death of Hubert Daniel “Danny” Sutton, Jr., 61.  Sutton and his son, Matthew Sutton, 27, were struck by a vehicle driven by Quinton Antonio Childs, 25.  The incident occurred at the residence of Matthew Sutton, 1289 Sutton Circle, Pavo, Georgia.

At approximately 1:24 a.m. the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the residence on Sutton Circle.  Witnesses reported there had been an altercation between Hubert Sutton, Jr. and Childs before Childs left the residence in a vehicle and struck the two victims. 

Hubert Sutton, Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy will be performed by the GBI Crime Lab. Matthew Sutton was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville for treatment.

Childs was arrested in Morven by the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office shortly after the incident.  Childs has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder and is being held in the Brooks County Jail.
