Arrest Made in Manassas Drive Homicide
Thomson, GA - A 16 year old juvenile has been charged as an adult with the murder of Reginald Roberts, 38. Roberts’ body was discovered by Thomson Police at 336 Manassas Drive when police responded to a 911 call for an ambulance. It appeared Roberts had been stabbed. After discovering the body at this morning at approximately 1:08 AM, the Thomson Police requested the GBI Thomson Office assist with the case. The investigation resulted in the juvenile being charged with one count of Murder and one count of Possession of a Knife during the Commission of a Crime. The juvenile was taken to the McDuffie County Detention Center for processing and then transported to the Augusta Regional Youth Detention Center where he will be detained.
Roberts’ body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, GA where an autopsy will be performed. The investigation is ongoing. Upon completion, the case will be turned over to the Toombs Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
