Athens, GA. – The Athens-Clarke County Police Department and the GBI’s Human Trafficking Unit are seeking the public’s help in locating fugitive Archie Richard Byrd, wanted for Trafficking of Persons. Byrd, 30, fled from police in Athens on April 10 during a human trafficking investigation that resulted in the recovery of a juvenile prostitute. Byrd was the pimp for the juvenile. He is also wanted in California for Aggravated Assault.

Byrd is 5’ 11" tall, weighs 230 pounds and has multiple tattoos, the most prominent being "ISRAEL" on his right forearm. He is known to frequent the East Point area.

Byrd should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Byrd’s whereabouts is asked to contact the GBI Tip Line at 1-800-597-TIPS(8477) or the Athens-Clarke County Police Department at 706-623-3337.
