Public's Help Sought in Identifying Human Remains Found in Harris County
Harris County, GA – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are seeking the public’s help in identifying human skeletal remains found on May 25, 2009 in Harris County. The remains were found just off I-185 just north of Hwy 18 and just South of the Troup County line.
A forensic examination of the partial skeletal remains determined they were of a black female, 35 to 59 years of age. A photograph of the reconstruction by GBI Forensic Artist Marla Lawson of what this person may have looked like is attached in the file below.
Investigators have checked missing persons cases in the area and initially thought the remains could be those of a missing Talbot County woman, but DNA tests proved that was not the case.
Anyone with information on the possible identity of the remains is asked to contact the GBI Regional Office in Columbus at 706-565-7888 or the GBI Tip Line at 1-800-597-8477.
