FORMER SHERIFF'S INVESTIGATOR ARRESTED
Lakeland, Georgia, - On Monday, April 12, 2010 former Cook County investigator Samuel Thomas Wills II, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Lanier County Sheriff’s Office at the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office in Lakeland, Ga. Wills, 45 YOA, was charged with 3 felony counts of Child Molestation by the GBI.
On Sunday, March 21, 2010, the GBI office in Douglas was contacted by the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office and requested to investigate allegations made against Wills by a 15 year old female, since Wills was employed by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office at the time. Cook County Sheriff Johnny Daughtrey also requested the GBI’s involvement. During the course of the investigation, another victim was identified, a 14 year old female. The charges include crimes against both victims. The investigation indicates that the criminal acts took place at the residence of Wills, which was located in Ray City, Lanier County, Ga.
The investigation is being conducted by the GBI with assistance from the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office and the co-operation of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
