Adel, Georgia, - On Monday, September 28, 2009, at approximately 10:32 a.m., the Cook County Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to Thomas Lindsey Parrish who had been found deceased in the yard of his residence. The Cook County Sheriff's Office responded and requested the assistance of the GBI office in Douglas.

Upon arrival at the scene, Investigators found Mr. Parrish deceased by his truck at his residence located on Hutchinson Parrish Road in Cook County, Ga. Mr. Parrish was 65 years of age. According to family members, Mr. Parrish was cleaning out his truck. He was found by a family member when they went to check on him. Mr. Parrish had a gunshot wound to his head. The initial scene assessment indicates that Mr. Parrish could have been removing a rifle from his truck when it went off fatally striking him.

There is no indication of foul play at this time and an autopsy is scheduled today at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.
