Suspect in Wednesday's Shooting with GBI Agents is in Custody
MANCHESTER - The two men wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery of GBI agents on Wednesday in Manchester are in custody. Darius Harris was arrested today by Manchester Police. Harris had a gunshot wound to shoulder and was treated by EMS at the Manchester Police Department. He is currently being held at the Meriwether County jail.
Further investigation of this incident by the GBI resulted in the charges against Deontoni Brown being dropped. Brown turned himself in late yesterday afternoon at the Manchester Police Department and is being held on an outstanding Escape warrant out of Talbot County. He has been turned over to the Talbot County Sheriff’s Department.
Kanarzay Montez Prather, 21, was arrested Wednesday at the scene of the incident at a residence at 913 Ira Parks Way in Manchester. Robez Owens, 22, also of Manchester was arrested later that evening in connection with the assault. Harris, Prather and Owens have been charged with two counts each of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery.
